A player in the NHL who was the victim of a phone theft in 2013 says he regrets it and believes the theft was intentional.
The player, who would not give his name, said he received the phone in a box from the team’s locker room after a game.
The box was broken into, and the player and his friend were able to retrieve the phone.
He said he did not want to have to use his locker again because of the phone theft.
“It was a lot of fun,” he said.
“I thought the team would put up posters saying this was a terrible thing and people wouldn’t be able to come and play.
It was a really cool experience.”
The NHL says it has since fixed the locker-room wall and other areas.
The players locker room was not equipped with locks.
